Maurer is one of the most famous 20th-century German designers, having been recognised by global museums, as well as the Compasso d'Oro lifetime award. Since the 60s, he has pushed forward the technological barriers of lighting design, experimenting with LEDs before they were popular, and using his artistic sense to mix technical quality with beautiful form. Designs like the Yoruba Rose are typical of his achievements.

In this case, the Yoruba Rose LED Table Lamp is a mid-size table lamp, designed to stand freely on desks, work surfaces or bedside tables. It takes the form of a broken circle, formed by stretching Japanese paper across lightweight wires, creating a delicate ribbed effect. Overall, the lamp has a lightness of touch and elegance that set it apart. Each Yoruba Rose lamp employs a single LED module within the diffuser, which casts a gentle light through the paper. And it measures 50 x 60 x 15 cm -- large enough for substantial tables or sideboards.

I am contemplating returning it for a new one to see if it is just a design flaw or a printer issue so I am rating it 4 stars.

My only minor complaint is that the app forces you to look at a ton of font options, and a lot of them are locked behind a subscription or paywall, but the free, basic fonts are more than enough to label a box of spare cables or spice jars. If you've reached the stage of life where clean storage containers bring you joy, this thing is worth every penny.
